Amber is a highly sensitive gem and must be cared for delicately. It is easily scratched (watch your fingernails!) and affected by chemicals, abrasives, acids, caustic solutions, alcohol and perfume. It is also flammable and can be ignited with a direct flame! Steamers, hot water and ultrasonic cleaners can damage this gem. To clean amber, use mild soap, room temperature tap water and a very soft cloth.

By absorbing negative or stagnant energy, Amber is believed to align body, mind and spirit to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. In recent times, Amber has become especially popular for the treatment of teething pain in babies.

It absorbs pain and negative energy, helping to alleviate stress. Amber clears depression, stimulates the intellect and promotes self-confidence and creative self-expression. It encourages decision-making, spontaneity and brings wisdom, balance and patience.

It is fossilized tree resin that has been appreciated for its color and natural beauty since Neolithic times. Much valued from antiquity to the present as a gemstone, amber is made into a variety of decorative objects. It is used in jewelry and has been used as a healing agent in folk medicine.

Its spiritual meaning is also one of protection and it’s given to travellers to keep them safe on long journeys.

It is a popular stone as it has marvelous metaphysical properties, that boost manifestation and ease stress by clearing phobias and fear.

Beautiful jewelry made from it resembles gemstones, so it is sold as a gemstone.
